Matt Pascuzzo BA, JD

Matt joined Buset LLP as a first-year summer law student and became an associate lawyer with the firm following his Call to the Bar of Ontario in 2023. He was born and raised in Thunder Bay and is a graduate of the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. Matt offers legal services in the areas of Real Estate and Development Law, Corporate Law, Aboriginal Law and Wills and Estates.

Prior to practicing law, Matt was a Press Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, acting as a public spokesperson for the Prime Minister. During his time on Parliament Hill, Matt also served as Press Secretary to the Minister of Labour and as a senior communications advisor to the Minister of Health.

During law school, Matt was an Editor of the Lakehead Law Journal and was a pro-bono student with Pro Bono Students Canada where he undertook legal research about issues related to environmental law and conducted public legal education presentations. He also took part in the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association moot competition.

As a young professional, Matt gives back to the community by volunteering with local organizations. He is currently the Chair of the Board of the Canadian Mental Health Association (Thunder Bay). Matt is also the Vice-Chair of the City’s Committee of Adjustment and previously served on the Board of the Italian Society of Port Arthur.
