Dylan Challinor HBA, JD
Dylan Challinor joined Buset LLP as a summer law student and continued with the firm as an associate lawyer following his Call to the Bar of Ontario in 2025.
Dylan holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law from Carleton University and earned his Juris Doctor from Lakehead University’s Bora Laskin Faculty of Law in 2024. During law school, Dylan was actively involved in student leadership and academic support, serving as Vice President of Fundraising for the Bora Laskin Law Students Society, a Dean’s Fellow, and a law tutor. He also competed in several moot court competitions, including the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association Cup and the Willms & Shier Environmental Law Moot, and has since returned to coach future competitors.
Outside of his legal career, Dylan serves as a Sergeant with the Canadian Army Reserve. He has supported several domestic and international operations; most recently in Sinai, Egypt, where he worked within the Liaison Branch of the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO). His contributions were recognized with the MFO’s Force Commander’s Commendation. Dylan aims to bring the same strategic thinking, leadership, and calm problem-solving from his military service into his legal practice.
When he’s not working, Dylan enjoys spending time outdoors — hunting, fishing, and hiking with his dog.
Dylan is particularly focused on the areas of labour and employment law, where he strives to deliver practical and effective legal solutions.
