Matt is a lawyer with Buset LLP and joined the firm following his call to the Bar of Ontario in 2023. He was born and raised in Thunder Bay and is a graduate of the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. Matt’s practice includes real estate, land use planning and development, municipal law and wills and estates.

Prior to law, Matt was a Press Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, acting as a public spokesperson for the Prime Minister. During his time on Parliament Hill, he also served as Press Secretary to the Minister of Labour and as a senior communications advisor to the Minister of Health.

Matt is also a sessional instructor at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law where he teaches real estate law and property law.

Matt is currently the Chair of the Board of the Canadian Mental Health Association of Thunder Bay and serves as a Director with Soccer Northwest Ontario. He previously served as the Vice Chair of the City of Thunder Bay’s Committee of Adjustment and on the Board of the Italian Society of Port Arthur.
